Vienna, 12 November 2025 – The United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG) held its Annual General Meeting today at the United Nations in Vienna, during which members elected the new Board for 2026. Among those re-elected was Filipina leader Maria Zelda (Marizel) Rojas, who will serve a second term as First Vice President of the UNWG.
Rojas is a well-known figure in Vienna’s international and Filipino communities. She currently serves as Chairperson of the European Network of Filipino Diaspora (ENFiD), Board Member of the United Nations Correspondents Association Vienna (UNCAV), and Board Member of the European Police Association (EPA). Through these roles, she continues to champion intercultural dialogue, community empowerment, and humanitarian collaboration across Europe.
Her re-election to the UNWG Board reflects the members’ confidence in her leadership and her continued dedication to the Guild’s mission of helping children in need around the world. Over the years, Rojas has played a key role in strengthening partnerships, fostering volunteer engagement, and building bridges between communities in support of the Guild’s charitable work.
Founded more than five decades ago, the United Nations Women’s Guild is a volunteer organization composed of spouses of UN staff and members of the international community in Vienna. The Guild’s charitable initiatives provide life-changing support to disadvantaged children across the globe — funding education, healthcare, nutrition, and welfare projects in developing countries.
As part of its annual fundraising activities, the UNWG will once again host the much-anticipated International Festival and Charity Bazaar on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at the Austria Center Vienna. The public is invited to take part under the theme “Joining Hands to Help Children” — an opportunity to experience international cuisine, national goods, and cultural entertainment under one roof.
Visitors can look forward to the popular tombola, offering attractive prizes while supporting a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the Bazaar will go directly to child-focused projects supported by the UNWG worldwide.
